Job summary

Brickworks Limited in Golden Grove, SA seeks a qualified Plant Electrician to join Austral Bricks. You will manage site breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance on PLC networks, SCADA, and process control systems, and implement improvements on electrical assets.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will develop standardised work methods and scope requirements for changes, ensuring quick response to emergencies and efficient plant operation.

Qualifications

• Electrical Trade Certificate is required.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Ability to fault-find in an industrial environment.
• Strong ability to read schematics, plans and specs.
• Prior experience with PLC/SCADA systems is advantageous.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and respond quickly to breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operational excellence initiatives.
• Develop and maintain standardised work method statements.
• Scope requirements for management change requests; identify solutions.
• Scope electrical project requirements; install, test, and commission.
• Ensure plant assets are maintained to support efficient operation.
• Plan maintenance tasks to minimise downtime.
• Conduct proactive breakdown analysis and document proposed solutions.

Job description

Brickworks SA are seeking a qualified and committed Plant Electrician, to join our Austral Bricks plant in Golden Grove, SA. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing site breakdowns, modifications and carrying out preventative maintenance on the PLC network, SCADA, and process control communication systems.

Day Shift Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00 am – 14:15 pm
• Friday: 6:00 am – 11:45 pm
• Overtime available

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist with and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.
• Develop and maintain standardised work method statements.
• Scope requirements for management change requests, identify solutions, and take appropriate action.
• Scope electrical project requirements as requested; install, test, and commission.
• Ensure plant assets are properly maintained to support the efficient operation of equipment.
• Plan required maintenance tasks to minimise associated downtime.
• Conduct proactive breakdown analysis, identify problem areas within the plant, and review and document proposed solutions.

Success Requirements

• Electrical Trade Certificate.
• Demonstrated experience in similar role.
• Adequate skill in Technical Trade aptitude and problem solving.
• Fault finding in an industrial environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong ability to find technical fault finding.
• Sound ability to read and understand schematic drawings, plans and specifications.
• Strong ability to prioritise tasks and ensure quick response to emergency breakdowns.
