Job summary

Evolution Mining Ltd. in Western Australia seeks a Geology Technician to support grade control, ore spotting and drilling in open pit operations. You’ll work with experienced geologists and crews to identify ore and ensure data integrity.

Based at Mungari Operations, the role offers a challenging, collaborative environment with opportunities to advance practical mining geology skills and contribute to safe, efficient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience.
• 4+ years' experience within the gold mining industry, ideally in geological roles.
• Strong geological modelling capability using Leapfrog Geo.
• Experience planning, coordinating and managing drilling programs.
• Experience interpreting geological, structural and geochemical data.
• Exposure to resource definition and related reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Help maximise ore recovery by supporting ore spotting and grade control.
• Maintain the quality and integrity of geological data through sampling and field observations.
• Coordinate field activities and ensure samples are collected and dispatched correctly.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Senior Geology Technician, you’ll:

• Help maximise ore recovery by supporting ore spotting and grade control activities across active open pit operations.
• Maintain the quality and integrity of geological data through accurate sampling, data collection and field observations.
• Support drilling programs by coordinating field activities and ensuring samples are collected, managed and dispatched correctly.
• Contribute to safe and efficient mining outcomes by working closely with geologists, mining crews and contractors.
• Keep geology activities running smoothly through equipment maintenance, stock management and day‑to‑day operational support.

This position is on an attractive 8:6 roster, working 12‑hour days for those residing in Kalgoorlie only or willing to relocate permanently.

Does this sound like you?

• Tertiary qualification in Geology or Geoscience.
• 4+ years' experience within the gold mining industry, ideally in a Project Geologist, Resource Definition Geologist, Exploration Geologist or similar technical geology role.
• Strong geological modelling capability with hands‑on experience using Leapfrog Geo.
• Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating and managing drilling programs from design through to execution.
• Experience interpreting geological, structural, geochemical and geophysical datasets to support geological understanding, targeting and resource growth.
• Sound understanding of resource definition, near‑mine exploration or resource development activities.
• Exposure to technical reporting, resource evaluation and database validation processes.
• Experience with geological software such as Leapfrog, Datamine, acQuire or QGIS will be highly regarded.
• Current Manual Driver's Licence and Australian working rights.
