Job summary

Verbrec is seeking an energetic Pipeline Technician in Victoria for full-time permanent work. You will safely execute field services for pipelines, including welding, testing, surveys, and inspections, while complying with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a Certificate III in process plant operations or CP1 Cathodic Protection Tester, plus related trade certificates. Remote-area experience and strong communication skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in process plant operations or CP 1 – Cathodic Protection Tester (NACE).
• Equivalent trade certificate in mechanical fitting or plumbing is highly regarded.
• Experience in the gas industry, especially pipeline inspection and maintenance, is valued.
• Safety-first approach is essential.
• Experience working in remote areas is an advantage.
• Ability to work unsupervised and show a high level of mechanical aptitude.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and basic computer literacy.
• Experience communicating with landowners and occupiers.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently execute field services for Verbrec operated pipelines and external clients.
• Perform emergency welding and response, repair, leak testing, and various surveys.
• Carry out depth of cover surveys and cathodic protection surveys.
• Conduct non-destructive testing, pipeline pigging, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning.
• Contribute to pipeline and facility construction and integrity inspections.
• Adhere to safety, environment, and regulatory guidelines.
