Job summary

ACCIONA is delivering a flagship Western Australia infrastructure project, with first production anticipated in 2028. You will install, assemble and maintain piping systems across the site, reading technical drawings and isometrics, aligning pipework and fitting valves, while coordinating with welders and other trades to ensure schedule adherence.

We are seeking a qualified Pipe Fitter with a strong safety mindset and experience on large infrastructure or water projects.

Qualifications

• Must have a trade qualification as a Pipe Fitter or Mechanical Pipe Fitter.
• Strong understanding of pipe installation, alignment, valves and fittings.
• Genuine safety-first attitude.
• Experience on large infrastructure, water treatment or industrial projects is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and maintain piping systems across the site, including the seawater intake system and desalination plant components.
• Read and work from technical drawings and isometrics; fit and align pipework, install valves and fittings.
• Collaborate with welders, boilermakers and other trades to keep the project on track.

The Project

The Alkimos Desalination Plant Project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.

The Role

You'll install, assemble and maintain piping systems across the site, including the seawater intake system, desalination plant, pump stations and groundwater infrastructure. Day to day, you'll read and work from technical drawings and isometrics, fit and align pipework, install valves and fittings, and work alongside welders, boilermakers and other trades to keep the job on track.

Required Skills and Competencies

What you need

• Trade qualification as a Pipe Fitter, Mechanical Pipe Fitter, or equivalent hands on experience
• Strong understanding of pipe installation, alignment, valves and fittings
• A genuine safety first attitude
• Experience on large infrastructure, water treatment or industrial projects, highly regarded
