Job summary

Mungalli Creek Dairy in Cairns is seeking a dedicated warehouse picker/packer to join our dairy distribution hub. You will operate a forklift, pick and pack orders in dry, cold and freezer zones, and help loading stock for delivery.

This long-term, full-time role requires a current FL forklift ticket, the ability to work in cold environments, and strong accuracy with inventory control. A team-focused, physically fit candidate will thrive in our fast-paced dairy operation.

Qualifications

Job description

Mungalli Creek Dairy is a family-owned paddock to shelf producer of award-winning Biodynamic (organic) and premium dairy products and a distributor of a wide range of organic and gourmet grocery lines.

Our unique business model provides employment across the region as well as supporting 9 family farms.

Our range of product offerings includes: Biodynamic milk, yoghurt, cheese, cream, ice-cream and a range of organic grocery lines which are distributed across Qld and the east coast of Australia.

About the role

Our distribution hub requires additional skilled staff, this is a long-term position based in the Cairns Distribution Hub, 18-22 Atticus St, Woree. The roster will be 8:30 - 17:00 Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner to load and unload trucks
• Help rotate stock across warehouse using FIFO principles
• Pick and Pack orders in both dry, cold and freezer environments
• Assist the warehouse team to meet all schedules and runs.
• Ensure the cold-chain integrity of stock

Your essential attributes & skills

• Physically fit, Positive team player
• Forklift operator experience and current license
• Accurate and fast picking/packing experience to ensure no errors and orders are ready for loading
• Good attention to detail, well presented and happy disposition
• Ability to work in cold and freezer room environments
• Full permanent work rights as this is a long term position not suitable for WHV.
• Prior experience within a warehouse environment with perishables, dairy and cold logistics.
• Inventory and stock control experience
• Computer literacy and experience with systems and data although not essential would be desirable

As a picker/packer forklift driver you will be an integral member of our warehouse team ensuring that customers orders are packed and ready for delivery on time.

You will have a good level of physical fitness be able to work in a cold-room environment and have good attention to detail in ensuring accurate picking and packing of our products.

You will be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team. Being friendly, team-orientated, focusedand willing to go that extra mile is essential!

A typical day will include pickingand packing orders of milk, yoghurt, cheese and other cold goods in a cold room and organising our ice-cream for orders in our freezer. As well as working in our dry goods and cold rooms you will be assisting with loading and unloading stock using a forklift and must have forklift experience and a current FL ticket.

This position is long term with opportunity for advancement and permanent tenure.
