The Proserpine Hospital in the Mackay region is seeking applications for a Physiotherapist to join the Allied Health team on a temporary basis. You will work across the Mackay HHS, providing care in person, via tele‑health, and through outreach to diverse age groups and clinical conditions.

You will contribute to a rural generalist model, including supervision and training in delegated tasks, and you will report operationally to the Allied Health Manager, Rurals.

Role detailsThe Proserpine Hospital is seeking applications for a Physiotherapist to join their team on a temporary basis.For information on how to apply and the mandatory requirements for this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.Your opportunityTo work as a member of a multidisciplinary and trans-disciplinary Allied Health team, delivering clinical services to clients in the Mackay HHSs, covering a range of clinical conditions, complexity and age groups.This rural generalist position operates within a Professional Skill-Sharing and Delegation model of care by providing and participating in supervision and training in the use of skill-shared and delegated clinical tasks and by delivering an expanded scope of clinical practice.The position reports operationally to the Allied Health Manager, Rurals and professionally to the Director of Physiotherapy.The team provide clinical care in person, via tele-heath and occasional outreach throughout the Mackay HHS. In certain circumstances overnight accommodation may be necessary.The Allied Health Rural Services participates in the Allied Health Rural Generalist Pathway as described at https://www.health.qld.gov.au/ahwac/html/rural-remote. This incorporates completion of formal and work-based training in rural generalist practice and applying learnings to enhance clinical and service outcomes. Where trainee vacancies exist, opportunities to participate in and complete an approved Rural Generalist Education Program may be considered for eligible employees.About the TeamThe Whitsunday Health Service is made up of two facilities: The Community Health Campus - Cannonvale and the Hospital Campus - Proserpine. The hospital is a 33-bed acute hospital, which offers a number of specialty inpatient and outpatient services.
