Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to join our Allied Health team on a 12-month maximum-term contract, working 38 hours per week. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols at Mater Townsville Physiotherapy Department.
• Physiotherapy department services acute wards (ICU, cardiac units, medical, surgical, orthopaedic, renal, maternal). Rehabilitation includes day and overnight programs.
• Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under supervision.
• Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to junior staff, students and volunteers.
• Contribute to development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within MDTs.
• Identify and participate in quality and service improvement activities to improve outcomes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and liaise with patients and carers.
• Engage in continuing professional development to enhance clinical practice.

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist to join our Allied Health team on a 12-month maximum-term contract, working 38 hours per week. In this role, you will primarily work Monday to Friday, with opportunities to participate in a weekend roster as required.

Our Allied Health team is primarily based at our Pimlico campus and offers the opportunity to work across both inpatient and outpatient services within a supportive multidisciplinary environment. You will manage a diverse caseload that may include orthopaedics, surgical services, intensive care, cardiothoracic care, general medical patients, rehabilitation and women's health. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills across a broad range of specialties while delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and rehabilitation services to the Townsville community.

Salary range: $46.11 - $61.86 per hourplus superannuationandaccess to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $18,550 +access to many staff benefits!

What you’ll be doing

Typical tasks of the role include:

• Undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols at Mater Townsville Physiotherapy Department
• Mater Physiotherapy department service acute wards (intensive care, cardiac units, medical, surgical, orthopaedic, renal and mater mothers). Rehabilitation services include day and overnight programs.
• Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision
• Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers
• Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams
• Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes
• Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies
• Opportunity to participate in continuing professional development activities to further develop clinical practice and expertise

About you

You will be a AHPRA registered Physiotherapist as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council. You will also meet the below criteria:

• Broad experience working in an acute hospital setting and across rehabilitation services- desired. Note: New graduates are also welcome to apply.
• Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number
• A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Physiotherapy clinical services commensurate with level, and to manage a varying caseload day to day, including provision of an appropriate clinical handover as required
• Demonstrated attributes of solutions focus, flexibility and resilience
• Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care
• Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to work co-operatively with professional and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes
