Job summary

Synergy, Western Australia’s largest electricity generator and energy retailer, invites you to join Perth-based Central Park Office as Lead Future Energy Engineer. You will orchestrate 100MW+ of Distributed Energy Resources, lead a team of engineers, and drive the integration of renewables and storage into the power grid while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with electrical power systems and DER.
• Strong understanding of grid connections and regulations.
• Proven leadership and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence on technical solutions across the DER and renewable asset lifecycle.
• Develop and implement control strategies for power systems, DER, wind, PV, and energy storage.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate systems performance, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with grid and market operators to integrate systems into the power grid while ensuring compliance with rules and standards.
• Provide leadership for the DER team and support development of junior and senior engineers.
