Job summary

Spinal Life Australia is seeking Personal Support Workers to assist clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes across Rockhampton and surrounds. You will provide compassionate personal care and support daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current driver's licence.
• Hold or willing to obtain NDIS Worker Screening and Blue Card.
• Experience in personal care or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene
• Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management
• Basic wound care and self medication
• Domestic support (meal preparation, household duties and laundry)
• Community access (driving to appointments and social activities)

About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker, you'll directly assist clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene
• Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management
• Basic wound care and self medication
• Domestic support (meal preparation, household duties and laundry)
• Community access (driving to appointments and social activities)

About You

• Are excellent listeners and communicate authentically
• Can work a fixed fortnightly roster (morning, afternoons, evenings and overnights available)
• Hold a current driver's licence and have a reliable vehicle
• Hold, or willing to obtain, NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards
• Are experienced in the field, and/or hold relevant qualifications.
