Job summary

Pinangba, in partnership with BlueCare, invites applications for a Personal Carer at Shalom Elders Village in Townsville. You will support residents with daily living activities, personal care and mobility while following individualized care plans and participating in social and recreational activities.

Eligible applicants may hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent; tech-savvy candidates are welcomed.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Aged Care or equivalent qualification (Not required for Traineeship)
• Experience with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain

Pinangbais an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander lead service delivery arm of UnitingCare. The foundations of Pinangba are built from our cultural identity and strong community relationships and partnerships.

Yarning sessions around the fire pit, the occasional taste of turtle, crocodile and sop sop, and the sounds of didjeridu are all on the cards for Pinangba’s Shalom Elders Village, which sits on Bindal and Wulgurukaba Country in Townsville.

With 28 beds catering to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Shalom Elders Village provides comfortable residential aged care in a culturally supportive environment, while building connections with First Nations groups in the Townsville community.

Your part in our BlueCare Team

As a Personal Carer you'll provide care to your clients living in our residential home, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life through activities that include:

• Daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, help at meal times and general mobility

• Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan

• Supporting with community based recreational and social activities

What makes a difference for us?
