Job summary

BlueCare, part of the UnitingCare Family, seeks a Personal Carer to visit clients in their homes in Townsville and surrounds. You will support independence and improve quality of life through daily living tasks and compassionate care.

The role involves driving between client homes, delivering in-home care, meal prep, hygiene assistance and light housekeeping in line with each Care Plan. A current driver's licence and vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent – essential.
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) – essential.
• Roadworthy & insured vehicle for work – essential.
• Experience using smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.
• Able to satisfy probity checks under legislation or policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home personal care to clients in the community.
• Assist with daily living activities, including showering, hygiene, meals, housework, laundry.
• Follow individual Care Plans and support with community activities.
• Travel to and between client homes for scheduled visits.
• Support transportation and appointments as required.

About the role

As a Personal Carer you’ll provide care to your clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life.

• Spending your time on the road completing scheduled visits, interacting one-on-one with clients within their homes supporting with daily activities
• In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing
• Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan
• Supporting with community based recreational and social activities
• Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments.

Role requirements
