Job summary

BlueCare in Cairns North & Surrounding Areas is seeking a Personal Carer to support clients at home, helping with daily activities and promoting independence. This permanent part-time role focuses on compassionate, client-centered community care in the local area.

You will spend time on the road visiting clients, providing in-home care, meal preparation, personal hygiene and transport to appointments, with emphasis on dignity and respect.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III Aged Care, Individual Support or an equivalent qualification - Essential
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence (Green Provisional minimum) - Essential
  • Roadworthy & insured (Third Party Property minimum) vehicle to use for work- Essential
  • Experience with technology incl. smartphones, tablets, laptops etc
  • Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies

Responsibilities

  • In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing
  • Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan
  • Supporting with community based recreational and social activities
  • Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments.

Remuneration: $36.32 p/hr + Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay) + Allowances & Travel Reimbursement (KM’s) + Employee discounts

About the role:

As a Personal Carer you’ll provide care to your clients living in the community, supporting their independence and improving their quality of life. Spending your time on the road completing scheduled visits, interacting one-on-one with clients within their homes supporting with daily activities

  • In home personal care, daily living assistance including showering, personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, laundry and ironing
  • Providing care in accordance with their individualised Care Plan
  • Supporting with community based recreational and social activities
  • Transportation and assistance with shopping and appointments.
