Job summary

Stable Home Care in Tweed Heads, NSW is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Worker to deliver patient-centered support in clients' homes. Part-time role focusing on dignity, independence and quality of life, with a family-oriented team.

The role includes assisting with daily living tasks, mobility support, meal planning and companionship, while upholding privacy and safety standards in line with Aged Care Quality Standards.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Working with Children Check (WWC) or willingness to obtain.
  • Demonstrated experience in personal care, aged care or disability support roles.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients and families.
  • Physical capability to assist with personal care tasks and mobility support.
  • Compassion, patience and empathy towards vulnerable individuals.
  • Reliability and commitment to consistent care standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider care team.
  • Understanding of duty of care, privacy and safeguarding principles.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, respectful and person-centred personal care according to care plans and client needs.
  • Support daily living activities including personal hygiene, showering, dressing and continence care.
  • Promote client independence and participation in daily activities.
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation and eating while considering dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe home environment with light domestic tasks.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers and safe use of mobility aids.
  • Support clients to attend appointments and social activities.
  • Observe and report changes in health or wellbeing promptly.
  • Complete service records, progress notes and incident reports accurately.
  • Provide companionship while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Uphold client rights, privacy and cultural preferences.
  • Identify and report risks, hazards, or safeguarding concerns.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families and the care team.
  • Deliver services in line with Aged Care Quality Standards and Code of Conduct.

Job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Worker to join the Stable Home Care team in Tweed Heads, NSW. This is a part-time position that offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals within our community. As a Personal Care Worker, you will provide essential support and care services that enable our clients to maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life whilst remaining in their own homes. Key responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, respectful and person-centred personal care in accordance with each client’s care plan, goals, preferences and assessed needs
  • Support clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, showering, grooming, dressing, continence care and toileting
  • Promote client independence, choice and control by encouraging clients to participate in daily activities and build or maintain their capabilities
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation and eating, considering clients’ dietary requirements, cultural preferences and nutrition goals
  • Support clients to maintain a safe, clean and comfortable home environment through light domestic assistance and laundry
  • Assist with mobility, transfers and the safe use of mobility aids and equipment, following manual-handling procedures
  • Support clients to participate in appointments, social activities and their community, helping maintain connection and wellbeing
  • Observe and promptly report changes in a client’s health, wellbeing, abilities, environment or support needs
  • Complete accurate and timely service records, progress notes and incident reports in accordance with organisational requirements
  • Provide companionship and emotional support while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Uphold each client’s rights, privacy, dignity, cultural identity, preferences and confidentiality
  • Identify and report risks, incidents, hazards, signs of deterioration, abuse or neglect in accordance with safeguarding and escalation procedures
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, representatives, Care Partners and other members of the care team to support coordinated care
  • Deliver services in accordance with the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, the Aged Care Code of Conduct and Stable Home Care’s policies and procedures
What we're looking for
  • Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent qualification)
