Job summary

BaptistCare is seeking Personal Care Workers to support older people in their own homes in Morwell and the Latrobe Valley area. You will assist with daily tasks and provide companionship to help clients live independently.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted Australian Driver Licence is required.
• Certificate III in aged care or Individual Support (or higher).
• Current Level II First Aid Certificate.
• Proficient with smartphone apps and email.
• Able to work independently in clients' homes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clients.

Responsibilities

• Support older people in their own homes across Morwell and surrounding areas.
• Assist with household tasks, showering, dressing, meal preparation, continence support and transport to appointments.
• Provide companionship and a friendly, reassuring presence.
• Help clients stay living safely and independently in their home.

We’re looking for Personal Care Workers based in Morwell or the Latrobe Valley area to join our BaptistCare in Morwell and surrounding areas team, with the flexibility to work hours that suit your lifestyle.

• $36.22 per hour + superannuation, plus paid travel time and mileage between clients

About the role

As a Personal Care Support Worker with BaptistCare, you’ll support older people in their own homes across Morwell and surrounding areas.

Every day is different. You might help with household tasks, showering and dressing, meal preparation, continence support, medication assistance or transport to appointments and local activities.

Just as importantly, you’ll provide companionship, conversation, and a friendly face.

In a rural community, those connections matter. You’ll get to know your clients, understand what is important to them and support them to continue living safely and independently in the place they call home.

What you’ll bring

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who genuinely cares about people.

You’ll bring:

• Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence with minimum Third-Party Property Damage Insurance to transport clients
• Completed Certificate III in aged care or Individual support or above.
• Current valid Level II First Aid Certificate
• You will be a proficient user of smartphone technology, apps and email
• A warm, respectful, and caring approach
• Patience, resilience, and the ability to work independently
• Good communication skills and a willingness to build genuine relationships with client
