Job summary

Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is seeking a Personal Care Assistant for Home Care in Darwin. The position focuses on in-home cleaning and support tasks, travelling to clients’ homes with a reliable insured vehicle, and performing duties per care plans.

Visa sponsorship is not available. The role is casual with shifts offered as they become available, and compensation ranges per hour for Home Care Employee Level 2.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, domestic or commercial.
• Assistance with activities of daily living in community/Home Care.
• Comfortable with cleaning-focused tasks over direct care.
• NT Driver’s license and access to a fully insured vehicle.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse team.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks.
• Comfortable using mobile apps and working remotely.

Responsibilities

• In-home cleaning duties and attending appointments per care plan.
• Provide general care tasks as outlined in the approved care plan.
• Travel to clients’ homes using a reliable vehicle.
• Complete allocated cleaning tasks as part of the role.

Personal Care Assistant - Home Care Darwin

About the role

A new opportunity has come available for an experienced Personal Care Assistant (primarily cleaning and unqualified duties) to join our Home Care team in Darwin, Northern Territory.

This role is being recruited on a casual basis – Meaning there is no guarantee of shifts, you will be contacted when ad hoc shifts are available to source your availability.

This role attracts a salary of Home Care Employee Level 2 - $35.20 - $37.16 / hour (pending skills and experience).

This role will see you travelling to people’s homes and providing in-home cleaning duties, attending to appointments, and general care duties in accordance with their approved care plan. Please note: This role is NOT a Care Worker where a Cert III qualification is required.

This role will also include high-clean duties which include more in-depth cleaning such as window’s, ceiling fans etc.

As the ideal candidate, you will be comfortable travelling to our consumers’ homes to primarily deliver cleaning services and will have a reliable and fully insured vehicle. You must be comfortable to complete allocated cleaning tasks as part of this role.

As the successful candidate, you will be kind and compassionate in your approach to our consumers and be understanding and supportive of their needs whilst, able to interpret and understand their care-plans and stick to the delegated services.

Skills & experience:

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate the following:

• Previous experience in Cleaning, domestic or commercial.
• Experience in assisting with the activities of daily living in a community or Home Care setting.
• Comfortable to work where delegated tasks are primarily cleaning over delivering of care.
• NT Driver’s license and access to a reliable and fully comprehensive insured vehicle.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• An ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions related to the role.
• Comfortable using mobile phone apps and working remotely.
