Job summary

Respect Baw Baw Views is seeking a Casual Personal Care Assistant to support residents to live a dignified life with compassionate, person-centred care. You’ll work closely with nurses and the care team to promote independence, wellbeing and strong relationships within a welcoming community.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.
• Previous experience in aged care or a similar role is desirable.
• Current National Police Certificate or the ability to obtain one.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including showering, dressing and grooming.
• Support mobility and safe manual handling.
• Assist with meals, hydration and daily living activities.
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families.
• Observe and report changes in residents' health and wellbeing.
• Follow care plans and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support participation in activities to maintain independence.

About the Role

As a Casual Personal Care Assistant at Baw Baw Views, you will play an important role in supporting our residents to live a life well-lived through compassionate, person-centred care.

Working closely with our nurses and wider care team, you'll provide practical and emotional support while helping residents maintain their dignity, independence and wellbeing.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include

• Providing personal care including assistance with showering, dressing and grooming
• Supporting residents with mobility and safe manual handling
• Assisting with meals, hydration and daily living activities
• Building meaningful relationships with residents and their families
• Observing and reporting changes in residents' health and wellbeing
• Working collaboratively with nurses and the wider care team
• Following individual care plans and maintaining accurate documentation
• Supporting residents to participate in activities and maintain their independence

We're looking for a Personal Care Assistant who is compassionate, reliable and passionate about supporting older people to live their best lives.

To Be Considered, You Will Have

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent
• Previous experience in aged care or a similar role is desirable
• A genuine passion for providing quality care to older people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A positive, team-focused attitude
• The ability to work across a variety of shifts
• An understanding of person-centred care
