Job summary

Help at Hand Support Services in New South Wales, Sydney, seeks experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities. You will provide person-centred support, assist with daily activities, and help clients participate in outings and appointments.

Every day is varied: outings to the beach or cinema, home companionship with a cuppa, and crisis-support when needed.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Disability or above or equivalent experience.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• First aid/CPR certificates (current).
• Full and clean Australian driver’s license.
• Must have reliable, insured vehicle and be punctual.
• Good written and verbal communication; empathetic and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support and assist with daily routines.
• Help clients with appointments and accompany them on outings.
• Support social and recreational activities and companionship.
• Remain calm and professional during crises.
• Must have the right to live and work in Australia.
