Job summary

Help at Hand Support Services is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people with a disability. You will provide a person-centred approach, with a daily routine that varies by client—from accompanying someone to the beach or a movie to supporting medical appointments at home, offering companionship over tea.

Casual shifts with a rotating roster in Sydney require punctuality, empathy, and strong communication to ensure

Qualifications

Must have your own fully insured and reliable vehicle.
International police check (if applicable) or Current police check (must be within 6 months from the date of application).
Cert III in Disability or above or equivalent experience.
A current Working with children check.
First aid/CPR certificates (current).
Full and clean Australian driver’s license.
Be punctual.
Be reliable and flexible.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Empathetic and proactive with a genuine interest to work in this field.
The ability to self-supervise and to remain calm and composed at times of crisis.

Responsibilities

Provide a person-centred approach and adapt daily routines to each client.
Assist with activities such as beach/outings, movies, or games.
Support clients to attend medical appointments and provide companionship at home.
