Job summary

Catholic Healthcare Limited is seeking experienced Personal Care Assistants to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. You will help create a safe, home-like environment for residents and provide personal care including hygiene, showering, dressing, toileting, meals, mobility and social support.

Responsibilities include direct resident care, helping with meals and activities, maintaining cleanliness, and promptly reporting changes in health status to the Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Personal Care Assistant in a Residential Aged Care home.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Commitment to respecting residents' values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs.
• Excellent time-management and prioritisation skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Flexibility to adapt to change.
• Willingness to obtain NDIS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including hygiene, showering, dressing and toileting.
• Assist with meals service, mobility and social support.
• Support residents with activities of daily living and companionship.
• Make beds, tidy rooms and assist with leisure activities.
• Respond promptly to resident call buttons and report changes to the RN on duty.
• Build strong relationships with residents and families and respond to feedback.
