Job summary

Northern Star Resources is seeking a Light Vehicle Fitter to join the Thunderbox operation on a FIFO ex Perth basis. The role operates on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster, reporting to the Light Vehicle Co-Ordinator, with a primary focus on maintaining light vehicles and related ancillary equipment to minimise downtime between planned maintenance tasks.

You’ll work within the Mobile Maintenance Team, handling breakdowns, PMs and planned work safely, organize permits, and contribute to safety

Qualifications

• Mechanical Trade Qualification is required.
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence is required.
• Refrigerant Licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work within Mobile Maintenance Team to perform breakdowns, PMs and planned work safely and effectively.
• Address safety issues and undertake safety investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
• Organise permits such as isolations, confined space, hot work and dig permits.
• Continuously review scheduled jobs to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Provide input into the annual performance reviews for the Mechanical Apprentices where applicable.
