Job summary

St Jude's Guildford Village is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Officer to provide quality maintenance and gardening across the facility and grounds. You will be responsible for garden beds, lawn care, reticulation, and overseeing contractors, helping create a homely environment for residents.

The role emphasises attention to safety, regulatory compliance, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently with a valid driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and gardening.
• Solid understanding of facility services and equipment (gas, water, power).
• Must obtain a valid driver’s licence; NDIA Worker Screening Check and National Police Clearance desired.

Responsibilities

• Procure maintenance services and oversee contractors.
• Ensure regulatory compliance.
• Update records and stock for chemicals/equipment.
• Identify hazards and implement preventive actions.
• Fertilising and aerating lawns; trimming trees.
• Maintenance and cleaning of windows, entrances/exits and car park.
• Contribute to a positive, resident‑focused customer experience.
