Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join a leading metal component manufacturer in New South Wales on a permanent day shift. You will perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery, including presses, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors, and automated lines.

Ideal candidates hold a trade qualification, with strong fault-finding skills and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in maintenance/mechanical fitting.
• Experience in manufacturing maintenance environments.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing, automated production, or rail-related industries preferred.
• Strong fault-finding and breakdown abilities.
• Hands-on attitude with practical problem-solving skills.
• Safety-first mindset and reliable team player.

Responsibilities

• Preventative and breakdown maintenance across production machinery.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting mechanical equipment.
• Work on presses, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors and automated machinery.
• Support plant upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Reduce downtime and keep production running efficiently.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams.
• Complete maintenance reporting through CMMS systems.
