Job summary

Downer is seeking Asphalt Plant Operators for its Gosnells and Hope Valley sites to support a strong pipeline of work across the Perth metropolitan area. The role reports to the Production Foreman and focuses on safe, efficient production of quality asphalt.

You will operate the plant control system, feed materials, manage mix temperatures, load trucks at the weighbridge, conduct pre-start checks, and coordinate with labs and maintenance to keep production on target.

Qualifications

• Experience operating an asphalt plant or comparable process plant.
• Front-end loader ticket or loader experience.
• Strong mechanical understanding and ability to identify plant issues.
• High accuracy in record-keeping and weighbridge documentation.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• WA driver’s licence and Construction White Card.
• Availability for early starts and night/weekend work per production program.

Responsibilities

• Operate the plant through the control system, managing feeds, binder delivery and temperatures to specification.
• Operate front-end loader to feed cold bins and manage stockpiles.
• Load and ticket trucks at the weighbridge.
• Perform pre-start checks, routine maintenance and housekeeping; report defects promptly.
• Collaborate with laboratory and maintenance teams to keep production on target.
