Job summary

Prince of Wales Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Scrub & Scout role in the Randwick Campus Operating Suite. You will deliver patient-centred perioperative care, assess and plan nursing actions, and work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
• Strong computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, Work Health and Safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
• Recent postgraduate clinical scrub/scout experience in an Acute Operating Theatre setting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred perioperative nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support safe patient outcomes.
• Promote quality, safety and risk management practices and provide clinical supervision within perioperative environment.
