Job summary

Bayside Health - Regional Care Group is seeking experienced Perioperative Registered Nurses to join our Operating Suite team at Wonthaggi Hospital. The role involves working as part of a productive team under the Nurse Unit Manager’s supervision to provide safe, quality perioperative care.

The position is primarily based at the Wonthaggi hospital with opportunities for professional development and flexible scheduling within the Casual Pool.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current AHPRA practising certificate.
• Current Police Check.
• Working with Children Check.
• Seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory as per directions.
• COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended to remain up to date.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an understanding of patient safety, quality & risk and contribute to quality initiatives.

About the Role

Bayside Health - Regional Care Group is seeking experienced and passionate Perioperative Registered Nurses to join our Operating Suite team at Wonthaggi Hospital. A Perioperative Registered Nurse is required to work as a productive member of the operating suite team under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, is expected to work within their scope of practice and demonstrate a sound level of skills in assessment, care planning, practice and evaluation in the provision of care to clients and their significant others.

The position will be primarily based at the Wonthaggi hospital.

Successful applicant will

• Maintain an understanding of individual responsibility for patient safety, quality & risk and contribute to organisational quality and safety initiatives.
• Responsibility to demonstrate an understanding of the manual handling requirements of the position.
• To respect the dignity, cultural values and beliefs of patients/residents and significant others in the provision of nursing care.
• Works under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to provide safe and competent nursing care
• Treat as confidential personal information obtained in a professional capacity
• Compliance with annual competencies
• Comply with all relevant legislation, standards, and organisational policies that govern safe, ethical, and equitable practice within the healthcare environment.

Mandatory Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) holding current practicing certificate with AHPRA

• COVID-19 Vaccination are strongly recommended to remain up to date as per Australian Technical Advisory Group (ATAGI)
