Job summary

NSW Health in Sydney is seeking reliable Operations Assistants to join the Recovery Unit team and provide essential non-clinical support for the safe, efficient operation of the Recovery Unit and Operating Suite.

You will coordinate equipment movement, stock and supplies, assist with theatre and recovery area set-up, transport items, maintain stock levels and support interdepartmental workflows to ensure high standards of patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
• Ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to work under supervision and/or independently and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective team member.
• Must be able to fulfil the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the movement of equipment, instruments, stock and supplies required to support surgical and recovery activities.
• Assist with theatre and recovery area set-up and turnover, transporting equipment and supplies.
• Maintain stock levels and support workflow between departments.
• Ensure work areas comply with infection prevention, WHS and quality standards.
• Participate in a 24-hour perioperative service with rotating rosters including weekends.
