Job summary

Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Anaesthetics team on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. In our perioperative service you’ll provide post-anaesthetic care across a diverse surgical caseload and work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.

Salary range is $44.06 to $56.52 per hour, with superannuation and access to salary packaging and staff benefits.

Qualifications

• AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Anaesthetic Nurse in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and clinical judgment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with anaesthesia care management, including preoperative assessment and intraoperative monitoring.
• Ensure patient safety during anaesthesia and manage potential complications.
• Provide post-anaesthesia care and manage postoperative recovery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and the nursing team to deliver high-quality care.
• Advocate for patients and contribute to perioperative outcomes.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement and sustainability of the department.
