An established organisation with a formidable reputation in the construction and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join its People & Culture team. This is an opportunity to join a complex, operationally focused organisation undergoing significant transformation, with continued investment in its people, systems, operating model and future workforce capability.
Our client is looking for a commercially minded HR professional who can partner confidently with senior leaders while remaining hands‑on across employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning and leadership coaching.
About the Role
You will partner with a large portfolio, supporting corporate and business functions and working closely with senior leaders and people managers.
This is a genuine People Partnering role, broad enough to provide end-to-end HR partnering, with the depth and confidence to personally manage operational people matters.
You will:
- Partner with senior leaders to translate business priorities into practical people plans.
- Coach leaders on performance, accountability, leadership capability and effective people management.
- Support restructures, organisational realignment, consultation and broader transformation activity.
- Challenge and test business requests to understand the underlying workforce issue before recommending a solution.
- Provide practical advice across the employee lifecycle, including performance, conduct, engagement, retention, talent and capability.
- Manage day-to-day employee relations matters, with specialist support available for complex ER/IR matters.
- Support workforce planning and capability planning in response to organisational growth and transformation.
- Contribute to talent, succession, mobility and leadership development initiatives.
- Use workforce data and HR systems to support informed decision‑making.
- Work closely with People Services, Talent, Employee Relations and other specialist People & Culture teams.
About You
You will be an experienced HR Business Partner with strong generalist capability and demonstrated success working within a complex organisation.
You will bring:
- Significant HRBPexperience.
- Experience partnering with senior leaders and executives.
- Strong employee relations and case‑management capability.
- Experience supporting organisational change, restructures and transformation.
- Exposure to workforce planning, talent, succession and capability development.
- Strong leadership coaching, influencing and stakeholder‑management skills.
- The confidence to constructively challenge leaders and provide commercially grounded advice.
- Sound judgement in complex, sensitive and ambiguous situations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
- Confidence working with Excel, HR data and contemporary HR systems.
- Experience withininfrastructure,engineering, transport, construction, resources or another operational/asset‑intensive environment will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to unionised workforces and industrial relations will be advantageous.
