Job description

Our People Experience team delivers best-in-class HR services to our employees and people leaders across Macquarie. Supporting the Banking and Financial Services division, our retail banking and financial services business, you will play a trusted advisory role, partnering closely with the People & Culture team and specialist P&C teams to bring consistency, care, and continuous improvement to everything we do. This role will be offered as a 12-month maximum term contract.

We are a global financial services group operating in 30 markets with 57 years of unbroken profitability. At Macquarie, you’re empowered to shape a career that is fulfilling and creates value. You will bring your insights and expertise to the task at hand and feel supported as you make your own kind of impact for a better future.

What role will you play?

As a People Experience Advisor, you will be a trusted point of contact for both our employees and people leaders, bringing insight, empathy, and sound judgement to every enquiry you handle across Slack and by phone. You'll draw on your knowledge of people policies and employment practices to guide employees and leaders confidently, know when to bring in specialist support, and consistently deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You’ll play a meaningful role in shaping how our people experience key career moments — onboarding, transfers, probation, remuneration, change and performance — ensuring these processes are accurate, and well‑run, for both individuals and the leaders supporting them. You'll bring a curious, improvement‑minded approach to your work, using AI and data literacy to generate insights that support our People and Culture Partners and influence wider BFS priorities.

Working alongside colleagues across People and Culture, you'll help spot patterns, solve recurring issues, and recommend smarter ways of working that improve the experience for employees and people leaders alike, while reducing risk. You'll contribute to shared knowledge and standard operating procedures, support capability‑building across the team, and bring a collaborative, coaching mindset.

What you offer
  • Experience as a People and Culture professional in a fast‑paced, high‑performing, matrixed organisation
  • Well‑developed data analysis and numeracy skills with the ability to prepare insights to inform decision making
  • Possess a technology‑driven mindset, eager to embrace and learn new tools to deliver innovative and forward‑thinking HR solutions including AI
  • Delivery‑focused style and excellent judgement combined with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse stakeholder group at all levels in the organisation
  • Customer service focussed and comfortable working to deadlines and SLAs
