Job summary

Pacific National is seeking an experienced People & Culture Business Partner to support our Intermodal operations. Based in West Melbourne, you will work closely with operational leaders to strengthen leadership capability, resolve complex people matters and build a workforce ready to deliver safe, reliable services.

This is a permanent full-time role based at the Melbourne Freight Terminal, reporting to the Senior P&C Manager, and working as the key P&C partner for your stakeholder

Qualifications

• Experience as an HRBP or Senior P&C Advisor in a unionised environment.
• Strong IR capability including investigations, disputes and disciplinary matters.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and contemporary people practices.
• Ability to influence and coach leaders while maintaining trusted relationships.
• Autonomous with the ability to support stakeholders across multiple locations.
• Rail, transport or logistics experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to improve people management, leadership capability and workforce outcomes.
• Provide practical, commercially sound advice on employee and industrial relations matters, including performance, investigations, grievances, disputes and workplace conduct.
• Coach leaders through challenging conversations and build their confidence to manage people matters effectively.
• Interpret enterprise agreements, awards, policies and employment legislation to support sound decisions and manage risk.
• Support workforce planning, organisational change, talent and succession initiatives that strengthen operational readiness.
• Build trusted relationships with leaders, employees, union representatives and internal partners across multiple locations.
• Work autonomously as the key P&C partner for your stakeholder group while contributing to the broader national team.
