Job summary

Karbon, a global leader in AI-powered practice management software for accounting firms, is seeking a People Business Partner. Reporting to the VP of People, you will partner with Engineering and Product teams to align people strategy with business goals and deliver data-driven insights that drive performance.

You will actively use AI tools to surface insights, coach leaders, and manage workforce planning across Karbon's seven regions, while supporting change and employee experience initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4+ years as HR Advisor/People/HR Business Partner with a strong HR Generalist foundation.
• Prior SaaS or high-growth tech experience essential; understand Engineering and Product delivery.
• Working knowledge of Australian employment law, Fair Work, modern award interpretation, and WHS.
• Proactive partnering, data review, and people insights before leaders expect them.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Chief Product Officer and Chief Technology Officer; shape people agenda with business context.
• Use AI tools and agentic workflows to surface insights, automate routine work, and elevate outputs.
• Lead complex employment relations matters with clarity; coach leaders end-to-end.
• Lead on modern award interpretation, contract compliance, and WHS, surfacing risk early.
• Build narratives from people data to influence leadership decisions; drive multiple initiatives.
