Job summary

The Child Development Service (CDS) in Cairns North Community Health Facility seeks an Occupational Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team providing clinical assessment, treatment and management for children with complex developmental delays. This role supports families to access services and contribute to quality improvement within a public health setting.

Qualifications

• Deliver contemporary Occupational Therapy clinical assessment, treatment and management within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards.
• Assist in the development and/or review of clinical practices, procedures and protocols in a work area using the principles of evidence based practice under the guidance of senior staff.
• Engage in professional development activities and regular Performance Appraisal and Development.
• Contribute to the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities including effective risk management in order to enhance the delivery of safe and efficient services.
• Undertake routine clinical tasks and procedures within the Child Development Service workplace with supervision appropriate to level of experience.
