Queensland Health's Child Development Service in Cairns invites an experienced Occupational Therapist to assess and treat children aged 0-5 years with disability or developmental delays, working within a multidisciplinary team to support families.
You will apply contemporary OT practice, contribute to clinical governance and professional development, and participate in quality and risk management initiatives to improve child outcomes in the CDS.
Make a lasting difference in the lives of young children and their families. As an Occupational Therapist you will provide assessment, diagnostic formulation and occupational therapy services to children aged 0-5 years with disability, developmental delay, or those at risk of delay. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will support parents and carers to understand their child's development, access appropriate community supports, and achieve positive outcomes.
The Child Development Service (CDS), based at the Cairns North Community Health Facility, is a community-based multidisciplinary allied health service supporting children aged 0-5 years with complex developmental delays and their families. The service provides coordinated assessment, diagnostic formulation, brief intervention, and referral pathways, including support with access to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Early Intervention program, while assisting families to navigate services and achieve positive developmental outcomes for their children.
