Job summary

PAL School in Sydney is seeking a permanent full-time High School PDHPE and Sports Teacher to commence in 2027. Class sizes are small, allowing strong relationships and meaningful impact as you lead structured lessons and a vibrant co-curricular program.

The role offers leadership opportunities in welfare, careers, and sport coordination, with access to school leadership and a laptop provided. Remuneration is based on years of service and outcomes achieved.

Qualifications

• Proven classroom management and positive behaviour support.
• Strong communication with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt to varied classes and mixed abilities.
• Experience designing structured, engaging lessons.
• Comfort using technology to enhance learning.
• Interest in Buddhist philosophy and values is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach with authority, clarity, and care using explicit teaching methods.
• Design and deliver structured, knowledge-rich lessons based on evidence-based practice.
• Participate in co-curricular program including public speaking and cultural activities.
• Integrate school philosophy of wisdom, morality, and diligence into daily teaching.
• Contribute to whole-school activities, supervision, and pastoral care.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high academic and behavioural standards.
• Plan and coordinate inter/intraschool sports and activities with external associations.
