ABN Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to deliver accurate, timely payroll across a high-volume environment in Western Australia. This hands-on leadership role combines payroll expertise with day-to-day team coordination, ensuring compliant, efficient processing while enhancing the employee experience.

You will work across multiple pay frequencies and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex payroll matters and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience in a complex/high-volume environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance.
• Experience coordinating payroll workflows across multiple pay runs/frequencies.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Outstanding organisation/time-management with competing deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Collaborative leadership style with coaching/mentoring experience.
• Continuous improvement mindset to review/improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day payroll processing activities, ensuring accurate and timely pay.
• Manage competing priorities to deliver multiple pay runs.
• Process and review payrolls (new starters, changes, bonuses, terminations, redundancy).
• Oversee payroll reporting, bank files, PAYG, superannuation, leave accruals, month-end.
• Support team to resolve payroll queries with high service levels.
• Maintain payroll compliance and service levels.
• Coach and develop Payroll team members and cross-skill across the function.
• Review processes to improve efficiency and employee experience.
• Support audits and broader Finance/Group initiatives.
