Job summary

Torres Strait Regional Council (TSIRC) is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to support accurate and timely payroll services for employees across the Council. You will report to the Payroll Coordinator, ensuring compliance with awards, taxation and superannuation, while maintaining payroll records and responding to inquiries.

The role offers full-time permanent or fixed-term options, 6 weeks annual leave, gazetted holidays, uniforms, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing and administration within a medium to large organisation.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level payroll processing support and assist with fortnightly and special pay runs.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and reporting.
• Provide coverage for the Payroll Coordinator during planned and unplanned absences and respond to payroll enquiries.
