You’ll report to the Senior Finance Manager and work under the Payroll Manager as part of the Financial Control team. This is a structured role with clear responsibilities, but it also requires you to be proactive about process improvement and adaptable when priorities shift. The team is supportive and collaborative — there’s room to develop deeper payroll expertise and influence how the function operates.
You’ll own monthly end-to-end payroll processing for around 400 permanent staff using ADP.
You’ll process new starters and terminations, manage incentive payments and adjustments, and handle payroll calculations including parental leave, redundancies, and other ad-hoc adjustments.
You’ll manage superannuation payments, process STP lodgements, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payroll queries.
You’ll generate month-end reports, process journals, and prepare balance sheet reconciliations for payroll-related accounts including annual leave, long service leave, YTD payroll, and superannuation.
You’ll support payroll tax preparation and lodgement, work with the Finance team on expat payroll reconciliation, and assist with process improvement and automation projects.
During peak periods, you’ll help with ad-hoc reporting, information requests, and audit support.
You have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar Payroll Officer role, ideally in a financial services environment.
You’re proficient in Excel and have experience with ADP or WorkDay payroll systems (desirable but not essential).
You hold a Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or Payroll.
More importantly, you’ve got good judgment, the highest integrity and ethics, and you’re a genuine team player with a 'can do' attitude.
You’re resourceful and self-starting, with a real passion for continuous improvement. You take full ownership of your responsibilities and adapt well to changing environments.
You learn new systems quickly, communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and deliver high-quality work with exceptional accuracy.
You’ve got proven analytical and problem-solving skills and can prioritise and multi-task effectively under pressure.
If you want to work for a firm that’s serious about development and keeping accreditations current, this ticks the box. You’ll have a clear reporting structure, stable work with monthly cycles you can plan around, and a team that values integrity and continuous improvement. The business is growing and there’s room to grow with it — whether that’s deeper technical expertise in payroll, exposure to audit and compliance, or helping shape how the team scales.
