Job summary

peoplefusion is seeking experienced Payroll Specialists to support Newcastle and Hunter clients on temporary and contract assignments. You will take ownership of a payroll function and confidently manage high-volume, end-to-end payroll for 300–500+ employees, including tax, superannuation, reconciliations, and reports.

Ideal candidates have strong Excel and payroll software skills, with experience interpreting Awards/EA and a collaborative approach with HR and Finance.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing for 300–500+ employees.
• High-volume weekly, fortnightly or monthly payrolls.
• Payroll tax, superannuation, reconciliations and month-end reporting.
• Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation.
• Payroll compliance and Australian employment legislation.
• Managing employee and manager payroll queries.
• Strong Excel and payroll systems capability.
• Working collaboratively across HR and Finance.

Responsibilities

Payroll Specialists | Temporary & Contract Opportunities

peoplefusion is currently supporting multiple clients across Newcastle and the Hunter who are seeking experienced payroll professionals for a range of temporary and contract assignments.

We're particularly keen to hear from Payroll Specialists who can hit the ground running, take ownership of a payroll function and confidently manage high-volume, end-to-end payroll within larger organisations.

What we're looking for

Ideally, you'll bring experience across:

• End-to-end payroll processing for approximately 300–500+ employees

• High-volume weekly, fortnightly or monthly payrolls

• Payroll tax, superannuation, reconciliations and month-end reporting

• Award and Enterprise Agreement interpretation

• Payroll compliance and Australian employment legislation

• Managing employee and manager payroll queries

• Strong Excel and payroll systems capability

• Working collaboratively across HR and Finance

Experience supporting a payroll system implementation, migration, upgrade or payroll project will be particularly highly regarded.
