Job summary

Synergie Australia is seeking a Payroll Specialist to drive a major payroll transformation in Milton, QLD. You will partner with payroll, HR and stakeholders to implement new systems and processes.

You will support rollout, data migration, testing, and go-live activities while ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and governance. The role is 38 hours/week, 5 days, on-site in Brisbane with a 3-month duration.

Responsibilities

• Support rollout, testing, and implementation of new payroll software.

• Document SOPs and standardise payroll workflows.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project outcomes.
• Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Act as a change champion for new systems and processes.

What you will be required to do

You'll support a major payroll transformation initiative, working closely with payroll, HR, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful rollout of new payroll systems and processes.

• Support the rollout, testing, and implementation of new payroll software
• Assist with payroll data migration, validation, and go-live activities
• Provide support across payroll project delivery and transformation initiatives
• Review payroll processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy
• Document standard operating procedures and standardise payroll workflows
• Ensure compliance with industrial instruments, payroll legislation, and governance requirements
• Analyse payroll data and support reporting requirements
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project outcomes
• Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
• Act as a change champion, supporting adoption of new systems and processes

To be successful in the role you will

• Have proven experience in a large multi-site, multi-agreement payroll environment
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of payroll operations, legislation, compliance, and governance
• Have experience supporting payroll projects, payroll system implementations, or payroll transformations
• Possess the ability to interpret industrial instruments, awards, and enterprise agreements
• Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
• Be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
• Have experience with HRIS and payroll systems analysis
• Demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Be capable of managing competing priorities within a complex operational environment
• Have exposure to payroll systems such as Preceda and/or Kronos (highly regarded)
