Job summary

City of Ballarat is seeking an experienced payroll professional to join a dynamic People & Culture team. The role focuses on delivering accurate, timely payroll processing, statutory obligations and superannuation compliance in a complex environment.

The successful candidate will manage employee records, provide payroll guidance to managers, and contribute to process improvements and reporting. Experience with Aurion and awards interpretation is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering a high-quality computerised payroll service is essential.
  • In this role, you will: Deliver accurate and compliant payroll services, ensuring the timely processing of payroll, superannuation, deductions and statutory obligations.
  • Maintain payroll systems and employee records, ensuring data integrity, legislative compliance and effective management of payroll information within Aurion.
  • Provide expert payroll advice and support to managers, employees and the People & Culture Team, including interpretation of Enterprise Agreements, Awards and employment conditions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and reporting, identifying process enhancements, supporting audits, developing procedures and producing payroll-related reports and insights.

  • Band 6 Annualised (with monthly RDO) $99,875.65 - $110,823.31 per annum, plus superannuation

About the role

This role is ideal for an experienced payroll professional looking to further develop their career in a complex and fast-paced environment. You will be detail-focused, motivated to delivering accurate outcomes, with the ability to maintain a calm and methodical approach while working in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
