Job summary

Reo Group in Adelaide is seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to manage daily and weekly payroll processing, review timesheets, and maintain employee records within tight deadlines.

Qualifications

  • At least 12 months payroll experience.

This is a high-volume Payroll Officer position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, attention to detail and strong stakeholder relationships are essential. Reporting to the Assistant Payroll Manager, you'll manage daily and weekly payroll processing, review and process timesheets, maintain employee records and ensure payroll adjustments and changes are accurately processed within required timeframes.

You’ll work closely with the accounts receivable team to ensure payroll data is accurate and supports precise client billing, while also providing advice and resolving payroll enquiries relating to tax, superannuation, long service leave, allowances and Modern Award requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Process daily and weekly payroll accurately and within agreed timeframes
  • Review timesheets for accuracy and appropriate approval before processing
  • Ensure employee changes, remuneration adjustments and payroll information are correctly authorised and processed
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Provide payroll advice and support relating to tax, superannuation, long service leave, allowances and Modern Award requirements
  • Respond to and resolve payroll enquiries from employees, managers, clients and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with the accounts receivable team to ensure payroll data supports accurate client billing
  • Provide regular updates to the Assistant Payroll Manager regarding payroll operations and improvements
  • Ensure all payroll data input and processing requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Work collaboratively with the payroll team to support managers and employees regarding payroll and award-related queries
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements and efficiencies across payroll operations
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support compliance with relevant policies, procedures, WHS and quality management requirements
Candidate Profile

You will ideally have at least 12 months' payroll experience and previous experience using payroll systems. You'll have strong attention to detail, accurate data entry skills and the ability to manage high-volume payroll processing within tight deadlines.

You’ll have an understanding of Fair Work Australia, the National Employment Standards and payroll-related requirements, with the ability to interpret and provide guidance around awards, allowances and employee remuneration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be dealing with a broad range of employees, managers, clients and other stakeholders.

You're a proactive problem solver who enjoys working collaboratively, can confidently manage payroll enquiries and is keen to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
