Job summary

ASR Recruitment is partnering with an established Newcastle business to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer for a permanent part-time role. You will manage weekly payroll across four entities, working closely with the HR Manager and Finance Manager to ensure accuracy in timesheets, leave and overtime.

The role is Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am–4:30pm, based in Beresfield and offers consistency in a busy payroll function.

Qualifications

  • Previous hands-on payroll experience within a weekly payroll environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Awards, Agreements and the NES, including the ability to interpret overtime and leave entitlements.
  • Experience working with timesheets and payroll calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, calculate and process weekly payroll across four entities.
  • Collate and validate timesheets, hours, leave, overtime and allowances.
  • Interpret and apply relevant Awards, Agreements and employee entitlements.
  • Investigate payroll discrepancies and follow up outstanding information.
  • Complete STP, superannuation and payroll reporting.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records and respond to payroll queries.
  • Support leave administration and Accounts Payable when required.

Permanent Part-Time | Monday to Wednesday

ASR Recruitment is partnering with an established Newcastle business to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a permanent part-time basis.

Working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, this is a great opportunity for someone looking for consistency in their week while still taking responsibility for a busy weekly payroll function.

A little about the role Working closely with the HR Manager and Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation and processing of weekly payroll across four entities.

The role is heavily timesheet driven, so strong Award knowledge, accuracy and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalised will be important.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, calculate and process weekly payroll across four entities
  • Collate and validate timesheets, hours, leave, overtime and allowances

What You'll Bring
