Michael Page Australia is seeking a Payroll Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Australia. The role covers end-to-end payroll processing for Australian and NZ employees, handling weekly cycles, maintaining data in Employment Hero, addressing payroll enquiries, and ensuring compliance with legislation.

Ideal candidates will have proven Australian payroll experience, strong legislative knowledge, and excellent stakeholder engagement. NZ payroll exposure and HRIS experience are desirable.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for Australian and NZ employees.
• Process weekly payroll cycles accurately and on time across head office, retail and warehouse employee groups.
• Maintain payroll data and records within Employment Hero.
• Manage payroll enquiries and stakeholder requests.
• Interpret payroll legislation, awards, agreements and company policies.
• Payroll reconciliations, reporting and compliance activities.
• Data cleansing and payroll validation ahead of system migration.
• Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the business.

Essential Experience

Desirable Experience

• New Zealand payroll exposure.
• Employment Hero experience.
• Experience supporting payroll system implementations or upgrades.
• Exposure to SuccessFactors or other HRIS platforms.
