Job summary

Veritas Recruitment in regional Victoria seeks an experienced Payroll Leader to take the reins of a large, multi-site payroll operation serving 10,000+ employees. You will lead governance, drive improvements and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely payroll across complex awards and conditions.

Located in Traralgon region, this role offers significant leadership scope, relocation support and a path to shape payroll strategy.

Job description

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Payroll Leader to take the reins of a large, complex payroll operation and make a genuine impact.

Managing payroll for 10,000+ employees across multiple sites, awards and employment conditions, this is a role for someone who enjoys complexity and is passionate about people, payroll, governance and continuous improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, you will:

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing payroll team.
• Provide strategic oversight of a complex, multi-site payroll operation.
• Strengthen governance, compliance, controls and processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and service delivery.
• Lead audits, reconciliations, reporting and compliance reviews.Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and external partners.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and payroll capability.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Payroll Leader who has previously managed a large payroll and led teams within a complex environment.

You may be a current Payroll Manager, Payroll Operations Manager or Team Leader, or someone successfully operating in an Acting leadership role and ready for the next step.

You'll bring

• Strong payroll and Award/EBA knowledge.
• Experience leading large teams and multi-site payrolls.
• A strong focus on governance, compliance and risk.

• The ability to build structure, processes and controls where they are needed.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
