Job summary

Breight Group in Rivervale (Perth) is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead end-to-end weekly payroll for a growing mining and resource services business.

You will manage high-volume payroll across multiple awards, ensure compliance with awards/EBAs, and lead the Payroll Officer while partnering with the Finance team to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Extensive payroll management experience in a senior role.
• Experience handling high-volume payroll across multiple awards/EBAs.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Proactive approach to process improvement and system enhancements.
• Experience leading and developing staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end weekly payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely pay runs.
• Review and validate timesheets, hours and payroll adjustments.
• Interpret and apply relevant awards and EBAs.
• Process leave, deductions, salary sacrifice, back pay, incentives and other adjustments.
• Manage payroll-related statutory obligations including superannuation, PAYG, payroll tax and PLSL.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee pay queries.
• Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records.
• Manage workers' compensation payments and reimbursements.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll systems, processes and controls.
• Lead and develop the Payroll Officer and support the wider Finance team as required.

We're now seeking an enthusiastic Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team in our office located in Rivervale, Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end weekly payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely pay runs.
• Review and validate timesheets, hours and payroll adjustments.

• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive approach to process improvement and problem-solving.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and growing business.
• Experience with AI, automation and payroll technology.
• MYOB Acumatica experience is desirable.
• A Finance, Economics or related degree is desirable.
