Job summary

Allens in Sydney is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join our Finance team and oversee end-to-end payroll processing and administration. You will maintain accurate employee records, handle various payroll transactions and respond to enquiries with professional service.

The role supports compliance with Australian payroll legislation and offers a hybrid work arrangement (60% in the office, 40% from home). A solid Excel skill set and knowledge of iChris are highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Three years' payroll experience in a medium to large organisation.
  • Experience using the iChris payroll system is preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and data reconciliation.
  • Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, PAYG withholding, Superannuation Guarantee and leave entitlements.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to payroll process improvements and system enhancements.

You'll be a part of our Finance team based in Sydney. As a Payroll Coordinator you will: Manage end-to-end payroll processing and payroll administration activities. Maintain accurate employee records and payroll data within payroll and HR systems. Process payroll transactions, including new starters, terminations, leave, salary changes and allowances. Assist with payroll reconciliations, reporting and month-end activities. Respond to employee payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner. Support compliance with payroll legislation, awards, taxation and superannuation requirements. Assist with payroll audits and documentation requirements. Contribute to payroll process improvements and system enhancements. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.

About you

You will have: A minimum of three years' payroll experience in a medium to large organisation. Experience using the iChris payroll system is preferred. Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and data reconciliation. A solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including PAYG withholding, the Superannuation Guarantee, leave entitlements and payroll compliance obligations. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. The ability to manage competing priorities and meet payroll deadlines.
