Randstad is assisting a Queensland local council in Fortitude Valley to recruit a Payment Reconciliation Officer for a hybrid, temp-position ending 4 December 2026. The role focuses on reconciling payments, managing data accuracy, and supporting financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Payments & Cash Reconciliation: validate data, prepare payments for bank submission, reconcile transactions across channels.
• Financial Controls & Compliance: monitor controls, report non-compliance risks, resolve issues or elevate as needed.
• Customer Support & Refunds: investigate payment queries, process refunds, resolve service cases.
• Policies & Procedures: help develop and test guidelines to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• System Support & Maintenance: provide first-line user support, assist with system enhancements, troubleshoot issues.
• Process Improvement: implement operational improvements, guide users through changes.

About the Role

Our client is a QLD local council owned statutory authority based in Fortitude Valley QLD. They are currently seeking a Payment Reconciliation Officer to come in and join their team on a temp contract until 4th December 2026.

Requirements for this role include:

• Ability to record and reconcile financial transactions with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in standard software packages and office equipment to support business processes without supervision.
• Previous experience in a payment reconciliation role

Key responsibilities include:

• Payments & Cash Reconciliation: Validate data, prepare payments for bank submission, and reconcile financial transactions across payment channels.
• Financial Controls & Compliance: Monitor payment controls, report non-compliance risks, and resolve issues or elevate them as needed.
• Customer Support & Refunds: Investigate customer payment queries, process refunds, and resolve complex service cases.
• Policies & Procedures: Help develop, test, and maintain guidelines to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• System Support & Maintenance: Provide first‑line user support, assist with system enhancements, and troubleshoot ad‑hoc issues.
• Process Improvement: Implement operational improvements, offer feedback, and guide users through system and process changes.
