Job summary

Queensland Health's Redcliffe Hospital is seeking a Patient Support Officer to assist with patient movement, transport patients by bed/trolley/wheelchair, and help maintain clinical and non-clinical areas in line with infection prevention standards.

This casual, hands-on role also covers hospital cleaning, waste and linen management, and supporting clinical staff to provide safe, high-quality patient care, while upholding Metro North Health values.

Qualifications

• Comply with procedures, policies and standards impacting the role.
• Complete mandatory training and follow directions appropriate to the position.
• Assist clinical staff in patient handling and safe movement.
• Support patient care tasks and transport patients under clinical direction.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical staff in patient positioning and handling using appropriate techniques.
• Transport patients by bed, trolley or wheelchair across the facility.
• Maintain cleanliness in clinical and non-clinical areas per infection prevention standards.
• Support waste and linen management and equipment transportation.
