Job summary

Central Queensland Health is seeking collaborative leaders to join our Patient Safety Team across Nursing, Health Practitioner, and Administrative Governance streams. You will work within a connected, multidisciplinary team dedicated to transparency and continuous improvement, acting as a trusted partner to clinical areas.

You will lead safety activities, provide governance advice, analyse complex data to identify risks, and support education to raise safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Appointment as Health Practitioner, Registered Nurse, or Administration Officer with relevant qualifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for clinical and operational issues.
  • Clear, influential communication with senior management and clinical teams.
  • Proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
  • Solid understanding of clinical governance frameworks and NSQHS Standards.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

About the role
  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive patient safety activities and incident investigations across the health service.

About you
  • You are appointable as a Health Practitioner, Registered Nurse or Administration Officer – with the relevant qualification, registration or experience.
  • You possess high-level analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex clinical and operational issues.
  • You are a clear and influential communicator, capable of engaging effectively with senior management and clinical teams.
  • You demonstrate a proven ability to lead quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
  • You have a deep understanding of clinical governance frameworks and National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
  • You are committed to ongoing professional learning and the empowerment of colleagues through education.
What we offer

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary between $125,607 - $134,548 p.a. (Admin)
  • A salary between $128,169 - $137,918 p.a. (HP)
  • A salary between $114,532 - $122,643 p.a. (Nurse)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
