Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland’s Buderim Private Hospital is seeking a Patient Safety Officer on a part-time basis (0.8 FTE) in Buderim, QLD. The role focuses on hospital-wide patient safety systems, incident management, and improving care quality.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, apply risk management principles, and uphold confidentiality while supporting accreditation processes and clinical investigations.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline.
• Knowledge of risk management principles and patient safety.
• Experience in health service delivery with clinical knowledge and skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to self-motivate, work independently and under pressure.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and National Healthcare Standards.
• Willingness to obtain vaccinations and pass background checks.
• Experience with hospital accreditation processes.
• Experience leading or assisting with clinical investigations, including RCA.

Patient Safety Officer | Buderim Private Hospital

• Employment Term: Permanent Part Time Position (0.8 FTE)
• Location: Buderim, Sunshine Coast, QLD
• Remuneration: $64.96 - $73.02 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay)

Your part in our Buderim Hospital team

The Patient Safety Officer will be responsible for various aspects of the hospital-wide patient quality and safety system.

They will provide expertise and leadership to support the incident management system and related patient activities for the purpose of measurably improving patient safety.

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant health related discipline
• Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding patient safety
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in health service delivery with appropriate clinical knowledge, experience and skills is essential including an understanding of care processes provided in multiple areas of a health care facility.
• Able to process sensitive information whilst maintaining confidentiality.
• Demonstrated experience in developing working relationships to achieve identified outcomes and an ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills including experience in the use of computer software (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Ability to self motivate, work independently and works well under pressure.
• Advanced knowledge of relevant legislation, acts, policies and the National Healthcare Standards
• Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
• Experience in hospital accreditation processes
• Experience in leading or assisting with clinical investigations, including RCA
